Combined Civil services CCS-I commonly referred as Group-1 services exam is conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for the posts like Deputy collector (DC), Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP), District Registrar (DR), Assistant Commissioner (C.T.), Assistant Director (A.D) of Rural development etc., To become Deputy collector or Group-1 service office, candidates need to go through 3 stages process (Preliminary exam, Main Exam, Interview/Personality test). Combined Subordinate Service commonly referred as Group II Service Examination includes subordinate position such as Municipal Commissioner, DCTO (Deputy Commercial Tax Officer), Sub Registrar, Assistant Inspector of Labour etc., Candidates have to undergo 3 stage process preliminary / main / oral test.

Combined Civil Services Examination–II (Non-Interview Posts) (Group-II A Services)
It is classified as a subordinate service of assistant rank. The qualification for this examination is graduation. It includes posts such as accountant in treasuries / accounts department / assistant in forest department / personal clerk in finance department in secretariat / revenue inspector in Revenue Department etc., The exam is conducted in single stage (Multiple choice question-exam)
Direct recruitment for Junior Assistant, Bill collector, Field Surveyor, Draftsman, Steno, Typist etc., comes under Group IV Services.
Village Administrative Officer (VAO)
This examination is exclusively for the recruitment of Village Administrative Officers.
Teachers Recruitment Board
This examination is exclusively for the recruitment of Teachers. About TET: Teaching is always a coveted profession and lakhs of aspirants willing teaching jobs take TET exam in Tamil Nadu every year. As according to the new rules laid down on the 23rd August 2010, the minimum qualifications of a teacher have been clearly defined. TET stands for Teacher Eligibility Test. Candidates has to clear at least one TET paper to be able to teach a government recognized school.
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts Clerk/PO exams to nearly 20 banks annually. Similarly State Bank Of India (SBI) Conducts Clerk/PO exams. The exams are generally conducted in three stages: 1. Preliminary 2.Main 3.Personality test/Interview (Third stage not applicable to Clerk post)
